KC Certification for Electronic Products in Korea

  1. Certification Types

The KC certification for electronic products is required to be sold in South Korea are required to have (Korea Certification Mark) Certification. Following a reform of the certification system in 2009, most product certifications are grouped under the KC certification system. There are three different certification types. The product catalog defining which products are assigned to which type is regularly adapted by the Korean authority. The main authorities accredited to issue KC Safety certificates are KTL, KTR and KTC.




A certification is needed for products with more than 30V (AC) or 42V (DC). Most electronic devices that use the Korean voltage of 220V AC require a certification A distinction is made between the three different certification types:


Type 1: KC Safety Certification


Type 2: KC Safety Check


Type 3: KC Supplier Conformity Check
